This is a completely standalone game based on the classic version, but uses the «Choose & Draw» (variation of «Flip & Write» / «Roll & Write») mechanic. In this format, the game is simpler and shorter. You can now easily play during breaks, on the go, or anywhere else, getting almost the same emotions as the classic «The Isle of Cats». «The Isle of Cats Explore & Draw» is a настольная game from the same author, Frank West, from 2022. Like the classic «The Isle of Cats», it can be played solo. But unlike the basic version, players don't even have to be at the same table: you can print out the player sheets and play online. The Isle of Cats. Explore & Draw game. Save the cats on paper The evil Ves Darkhand is heading towards «The Isle of Cats». He plans to destroy the paradise island and its furry inhabitants. During the game, players will explore the island, find treasures, save cats, and think about how to place them on their ships. At the end of the game, players get points for the families of cats they have saved, the treasures they have found, and the tasks they have completed. At the same time, they lose points for the rats on board and the empty cabins. The player with the most points wins. Game flow The game lasts 7 rounds. In each round, cat and task cards are placed on the table - in a 3x4 rectangle. Players simultaneously choose 1 column and activate all 3 cards in it. The cards can be activated in any order. The cats, rats, and treasures are represented by figures. When a player activates a card, he draws the corresponding colored figure on the free cells of his ship, choosing the appropriate orientation. When a player activates a task card, he finds the same task on his sheet and marks it. Each player can also perform 1 special action by marking it on their sheet. A total of 3 special actions can be performed during the game. Special actions allow you to get additional cards from other columns, choose a row instead of a column, draw a cat twice, draw a treasure, etc. End of the game After the 7th round, players count their points. Rats. Players lose 1 point for each visible rat on the ship. Cabins. Players lose 5 points for each empty cabin on the ship. Cat families. Each cat family brings a certain number of points. A family is 3 or more adjacent cells of the same color. A family of 3 cats brings 8 points, 4 - 11 points, 5 - 15 points, and 6 or more - 20 points. Treasures. Each treasure brings 3 points. Tasks. Each completed task brings the specified number of points. The player with the most points wins.
