A charming and strategic family board game from renowned game designer Richard Garfield, the creator of Magic: The Gathering, Tokyo, and New York. Bunny Kingdom was released in 2017 and has been nominated for the Cardboard Republic Laurel Award, Origins Awards, and Spiel der Spiele, and won the Les Trois Lys. Geekach recommends Bunny Kingdom as one of the top 50 family games of all time on BoardGameGeek. This beautiful card game features adorable bunny and city miniatures and is suitable for both families and experienced players. Bunny Kingdom: The Battle for Golden Carrots. In Bunny Kingdom, players become rabbit lords and compete to conquer territories for King Long Ears. Throughout the game, they will try to collect as much golden carrot as possible, the game's equivalent of victory points. The Bunny Kingdom mechanics combine card drafting and territory control. Over four rounds, players will choose and play cards to gather resources and expand their holdings. At the end of each round, points are tallied. Game Cards. The game consists of 100 territory cards, with 10 rows and 10 columns. Each territory card has coordinates on the game board. When a territory card is played, the player places their rabbit on the corresponding space on the board. Territory cards are divided into fields (which provide carrots), forests (with trees), seas (with fish), mountains, plains, and cities. Building cards allow players to place city and farm tokens on controlled territories. Scroll cards are secret cards that provide carrots unconditionally or when certain conditions are met. There are also cards that allow players to draw additional cards. Game Play. The game lasts for four rounds. Each round consists of a research phase, a construction phase, and a harvest phase. Research Phase. Players choose 2 cards from their hand, play them, and pass the remaining cards to their neighbors. They then choose and play 2 more cards, passing the remaining cards to their neighbors. This continues until all cards have been played. Played building cards are placed in front of the player, and scroll cards are placed face down in front of the player. Construction Phase. Players move cities or tokens from their building cards onto the game board. Buildings can only be placed on their own territory, and only on a territory of the appropriate type. Only one building can be placed on a single space. Harvest Phase. Players collect golden carrots in their fiefs. To do this, they multiply the strength of each fief by its wealth. A fief is a group of spaces connected orthogonally. The strength of a fief is the number of towers in the city, and the wealth is the number of resources that the fief produces. End of Game. At the end of the game, players reveal their scroll cards and collect carrots based on the conditions. The player with the most carrots wins and is crowned
